Though Heath Ledger got all the well-deserved buzz for his performance in The Dark Knight, I have to say that Aaron Eckhart stole the show for me. Yes, Christian Bale was pretty hot too, but with the very little Bruce Wayne, I had to make do with the hotness that was Harvey Dent.

Then I realized this wasn't my first encounter with Mr. Eckhart. In fact, I had already seen him in movies like Erin Brokovich (though he was a biker boy there), Thank you for Smoking and No Reservations (where I super fantasized about ending up with a chef). I was so enamored with him onscreen as Harvey Dent that I found myself looking for more happy love scenes with him and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Alas, it wasn't a rom-com after all. I guess I'm going to have to dig up our copy of The Core. Yep, we've got one. I just didn't realize he was in it. ( BEWARE: Heavy Pic Spam ahead )

as some of you already know, bubbles oyster crashed.  yes, a mac can crash. it does crash. it just did. **^&$%&^%*^Y*&^*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  mac lovers, tanggapin niyo na. *&^%&*&^*^*!!!!!!!

all my files were wiped out, and my windows partition is gone too. *&*&^%&%$*^*&^&*$^&!!!!!!!!

so basically, i've been working with a handicap for the past few weeks. i had to (and still have to) look for old drivers and installers that i took for granted were part of my old hard drive. old settings that i also took for granted have to be reinstated. not that i remember how to put them back. 

i can't even talk to msword anymore.  *&*^%^&%^%$%#$%W$@^!!!!!!!!!!!!!

those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad.

this is horrible timing, really.  but then, there's no good timing for this at all.

i'm really due for some good luck soon.

i woke up this morning knowing that today is a special day, although i checked my calendar and noted that none of my friends or family are celebrating their birthdays. only when i opened LJ was i reminded that it was exactly a year ago when i learned the ending of the book that has had a great influence on me. it was a year ago when JK proved that i got it right, ron was made for hermione! :D

I'm sort of losing track of the days that go by already and it's only been six (?) weeks in. Work has added up, but still manageable. Org work was a little more too, but I've got such a fab team, I can't complain.

Little less drama on the academic front this week -- or maybe that's because I haven't been in Mass Comm as much. Or maybe it's the fact that Tito Dennis and Tita Lilet are back in town, so I'm distracted a lot. Just 280 days left after all, I can hack this. ( Read more... )

They say that you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your relatives. But even if Tito Dennis weren't my relative, I'd still choose him to be my friend, because he's just super fab!

I'm closer to my relatives on my mom's side just because most of them are here. But recently, everyone's been leaving for the States or elsewhere that it feels like we're the only ones left behind. This is why I'm so happy that my mom's brother and sister, Tito Dennis and Tita Lilet are coming home for my lola's birthday this Saturday. This is the first time in a long time that we're complete!!!

Point of this entire entry is, Tito Dennis has always been one of my favorite people ever because even if we don't see each other often, when we do, he totally makes sense all the time without being preachy or condescending. I really know that he's looking out for my best interests.

Which leads me to what got me thinking. He asked me what I had planned to do after I graduated in April (cross your fingers). He said that he wanted to help me with whatever it was, but I had to have a clear, specific list of things that I wanted to do. If Obama, the busiest guy ever, has time to work out in a gym and finish his rigorous work out by 7:30 in the morning, I have absolutely NO more excuse for my oh so busy lazy ass self.

So how exactly does Obama work out? And more importantly, what does the Democratic Presidential candidate wear when he's flexing those biceps? Politico's spies have the answer.

So very understated. I'm loving how he listens to music while working out. Some Jay-Z? Or Kanye? Or maybe Britney and Madonna! Or wait! Fergie as she works on her fitness!

Obama ran a full body workout. Standing tricep push downs, elbows tight to his hips. Lying triceps presses but with single 15 lbs dumbbells in each hand, his cap falling off... Though at times Obama did his own thing, focusing mostly on his triceps. [Politico]

So he's a weights guy? I swear I pinned him as a treadmill person. Now where is that guerilla camera-phone video to go with this article?!? I wanna see some weight lifting! I must start my one-hundred-pushup workout now!

congrats to JEN BARRIENTOS for doing a great job in Miss Universe 2008. saw all your photos there, jen and you looked great! :) i know you did your best! i'm proud of you. thank you for representing us! :)

also, congrats to the new Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza. you remind me of why there is a q&a portion. :) when you have to choose between equally beautiful ladies, it doesn't hurt to be witty. he he he.

i loved the top 5 save for russia. mas gusto ko pa si australia. i prefer happy smiley over ultra pouty lips.

i loved the way colombia did her swimsuit walk! she took off that scarf/shawl in the sexiest manner i swear!! that was brilliant! :) he evening gown walk was also really really nice. it helps na the gown works with you. or is comfortable at least. :)

last, but not least, congrats to RIYO! nice tux, babe. now that's something i know you'd really wear. he he he. mwah!

i finally got my plate! :) wheeee! happiness! :) thanks to ryan for redeeming himself and getting me that gaddem plate even before his two week promise was up. now i need stickers. a valley golf sticker and a la salle sticker. yahoo! ;) super happy that i can take indy out again. it was depressing to see him parked at the garage monday and tuesday. i took the bus yesterday kasi i couldn't use him. not that its bad to take the bus.. but mehn. kaya nga bumili ng kotse amp. anyway. past is past. yahoo! indy's got plates! :)

haaayyyy... quiz na in rem law bukas. haayyyyy... i should stop blogging and start studying instead. haaayyyy...
